Teaching
Andrew Padmore has had great experience as a singing teacher, with hundreds of pupils gaining ABRSM grades and diplomas with distinction. In recent years his teaching has been mainly at Grade 8 and diploma level, with dozens of students gaining ARSM, DipABRSM, LRSM, FRSM, ATCL, LTCL and FTCL qualifications. Having taught in Conservatoires, he has also coached many students for degree and postgraduate qualifications.
Much of his teaching has been in preparation for Choral Scholarships to Oxford and Cambridge and other Universities, as well as for further study at Music Conservatoires – RAM, RCM, RBC, RCS, RNCM, RWCMD etc. He also coaches singers for Operatic roles and auditions.
Andrew also teaches adults – professional singers and amateurs. He coaches opera singers, recitalists and other singing teachers, as well as amateurs who just aim to enjoy improving their singing and learning new repertoire. He was a singing tutor for the CT.ABRSM professional development course for Singing teachers, and has had papers published on various aspects of singing teaching. Students regularly travel from great distances around the country and even from Europe for individual lessons.
Repertoire taught is mainly Classical – English Song, German Lieder, and French Melodie, Oratorio and Opera.
