Accompanying

Andrew studied piano and organ, becoming a Cathedral Organist for 10 years. This gave him the opportunity to give organ recitals in some prestigious venues, including two in St. Paul’s Cathedral, London.  His organ playing lapsed for 30 years but was revitalised during the pandemic to the extent that he is once more giving recitals in cathedrals, churches and concert halls.

He has accompanied several song recitals annually in Ripon and Wakefield Cathedrals, and other large venues for professional and aspiring young singers. His greatest pleasure has always been in accompanying singing pupils.

In retirement, he plans to concentrate on piano accompaniment for solo singers and deputising as organist for cathedral services.
